SWIFT to Integrate R3 Corda PoC

Speaking in a panel at the Paris Fintech Forum, 30 January, SWIFT CEO, Gottfried Leibbrandt, reveals their plan to integrate with R3’s Corda platform. Ripple CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, was also present in the panel

Corda Proof-of-Concept Consensus for SWIFT

SWIFT enlists the R3 built blockchain platform, Corda, for a PoC (proof-of-concept) GPI Link test run.

Link is a portal to connect e-commerce and trading rostrums with the SWIFT GPI. This portal supports APIs, SWIFT, and ISO standards. It capacitates round-the-clock monitoring, payment flow control, and movement of goods by trading platforms. It serves to channel members of the GPI to different trade platforms and facilitate payments, payer authentication, credit approval, and tracking.

Fiat will be used on the PoC settlement system and the GPI based ‘off-ledger’ payment settlement is enabled. This initial phase of the PoC will occur on Corda. Companies meshed with R3’s Corda will have the capacity to authorize payments from their own banks through GPI Link. GPI payments will be accomplished by banks, and upon completion, credit notifications will be relayed back to trade platforms by GPI Link.

In the beginning, PoC will support Corda, but in the future, it will stretch to cover other DLT, non-DLT, and e-commerce systems.

A prototype of SWIFT’s PoC will be presented in London’s Sibos on September 2019.

Japan’s SBI Holdings teams up with the blockchain startup to promote Corda in Asian markets. German, French, and Dutch banks are using R3’s Corda for their Euro Debt Solution. In France, there are 26 companies and five banks which completed a KYC trial through Corda.

EOS/USD EOSUSD Chart By TradingView Unlike ADA, EOS/USD pair has slightly gained by 0.73%. EOS began trading at $4.04 and is currently trading at $4.16. Despite an overall bearish rally that was buttressed by the 21 day MA that traded above the 7 day MA. The RSI recorded otherwise since it was seen moving upwards from a low of 26 to a high of 54 that showed an increase in buyouts.  The downward momentum defined resistance level at $4.15 and support level at $3.97. The RSI indicator is currently heading south, showing reduce confidence in the coin by investors, thus increase sellouts. Forecast  At the moment, the 21 day MA is above the 7 day MA, and the RSI indicator is heading south. All the indicators point towards a bearish market rally in the next few hours. New targets should be on $3.90. Ripple (XRP/USD) XRPUSD Chart By TradingView XRP/USD, on the other hand, recorded a bearish outlook over the last 24hrs. The 21 day MA gravitated above the 7 day MA which supported the downtrend. XRP has an intraday dip of 2.1%, having begun trading from a high price of $0.3164 and has currently lowered down sharply to trade at $0.3096. The RSI indicator was also seen trading below level 50 throughout the 24hrs period. This showed an increase in selling pressure. The RSI indicator is currently heading south that indicates reduce coin confidence by investors. Nevertheless, the dip in the pair’s price has negatively affected investor’s sentiment. Forecast At the press time, all indicators signal further bearish rally, the 21 day MA is still above the 7 day MA and the RSI is heading south that indicates downward pressure. XRP/USD extended the losses under $0.31 during Asian trading hours on Tuesday. Ripple needs to stay above 0.3100 and possibly recover above $0.3200 to come out of the danger zone.
